Blogging vs. Twitter

So I'm finding, so far, that it's waaay easier to attract new people to my Twitter feed than it is to this darned blog. I'm not sure why that is...perhaps there are just too many blogs out there at this stage, and not nearly as many people on Twitter? Perhaps it's the interface? Twitter is definitely more interactive, though the new people who have begun to follow me aren't interacting with me so far...I'm still learning about this new way of doing things. If anyone out there has some advice on how to proceed with either, I'd love to hear!

Another idea I have is to begin featuring other sellers on my blog, to share the love and creativity. After all, there's plenty of room out there for all of us to make a living, right?

Just thinking some thoughts. Some new jewellery attached, as well.

A Giveaway?

I don't believe I have any followers at this time, but I'm wondering about starting a monthly giveaway all the same. I would perhaps ask some kind of trivia question, and whoever got it right would win a pair of earrings, or a gift certificate to put toward something in my Etsy shop. If there was more than one person with the right answer, I'd do a draw, or maybe have my husband draw a name.

Is anyone out there? What do you think?

So it's been a while....

I've gotten incredibly busy trying to improve my Etsy shop lately, and have seen some international sales because of it! That alone is a really fantastic motivator, but along with that, I am part of a team of incredible jewellery artists who support one another and offer advice when things get rough. They have really been key in helping me keep at it, despite less than 15 sales on the site since I opened my shop in September (all of those in the past 3 months!). What has also gone hand in hand with those improvements is offline sales, from local customers. So the site is not just serving as e-commerce, but as a portfolio for those interested in seeing what I have currently made. It's certainly easier than doing a whole show!

Anyway, here are some recent pieces I've posted.
